'Drive Light or Drive Night'
‘Drive Light’
The artwork, a layered tapestry of memories, tells the story of a bygone Europe, where borders were fluid and the horizon seemed endless. At its heart, the coffee machine stands in the spotlight, its constant drips marking the rhythm of the workweek—a symbolic beat of industrial Europe, slowly fading away.
Surrounding it, the small flags—silent witnesses to a once-clear route—represent countries, and an era when transporters drove across their own version of Europe. These flags symbolize both their dreams and struggles in a world where economic growth and blurring borders once held promise.
The curtains, like theater backdrops, rise and fall, revealing a journey now more mechanical than human. The optimism of the pre-2000s has faded, and the dream of a united Europe feels more distant than ever.
