A short video in which Philips (on a day of national strike) is standing still on the side of the road. While rush hour traffic passes by, Philips is greeted by the morning sunlight reflected by the glass facade of an office building. With Philips in the center of the frame, the double lighting effect creates an almost orchestrated setting. It’s reminiscent of the story of the Greek philosopher Diogenes who asked Alexander the Great not to stand in his light. Or to paraphrase MichelFoucault: ‘The cynic does not speak the truth but embodies it’.
