A sculpture as a tool for a performance: Philips made monumental replicas of four big courier company logos (FedEx, UPS, DHL, and TNT). These companies then had to deliver their own logo, with each delivery being documented on video. Unintentionally, the courier became part of a performance. This act highlighted that, apart from delivering packages, these well-known companies are also constantly distributing their own brand. Does this turn the delivery into a performance rather than a service? Philips explores the line between participating and playing with society. Curiously, each delivery had a different outcome: UPS refused to deliver because of the size of the parcel while FedEx initially refused (because it was their own replicated logo) but eventually delivered it.

Intervention, 3 sculptures, wrapped in plastic, mixed media, 220 x 90 x 95 cm
