Moresnet

(

This decor for the play Moresnet by theater group De Queeste consisted of a revolving room with zinc cladding on the outside. This element refers to the historical importance of the zinc mine of Moresnet, a neutral mini-state in Belgium that existed until 1920. The triangular geography of Moresnet was used for the basic design: each of the three sides serving as a background for one of the three chapters. The actors could manually manoeuvre the decor around, making it possible to step on or off stage unnoticed.
