Born to serve
One of the ‘training models’ for Creeping Death that was converted into a sculpture depicting an abandoned festival site with trash cups. The uninviting white light, signaling the end of the festival, is emphasized by a glossy epoxy layer, which represents a puddle of water. The sculpture is mobile because of the wheelbarrow system that also serves as a plinth. Philips hereby emphasizes the contrast between the buzzing technical complexities of a festival and the basic simplicity of a grass plain, a grazing field most of the year.
